45 Degree bends can be used to route the flue around rafters or other obstacles. Supplied as a pair, they should always be installed as such so that the flue is returned to horizontal / vertical after avoiding the object.

The maximum Flue Equivalent Length (FEL) permitted on the Genie Boiler is 20 metres horizontal or vertical. Each flue section has its own FEL value - when designing your Flue system, you should add together the FEL for each section, and ensure the total value is under 20 metres.
